The Magic Hundred Program – 2 days left – New Years Resolutions??

98 days ago I finished reading a book called “The Magic Hundred“.

The Magic Hundred Program by Dax Moy

The premises – to complete 100 goals in 100 days.

Sounds simple and straight forward right??

Well, making my lists was not the easiest task. Coming up with 100 goals which were related to health, career, relationships, adventure and finances was not as easy as I thought it would be. I spent a lot of time on my lists and I put myself out there via my blog to try and keep myself accountable to this commitment I was making to myself.

3 months have passed and I have 2 days left.

How many of my goals do you think I was able to accomplish the last 3 months??

In the past three months I had many hurdles thrown my way as most of us do.

I had my wisdom teeth out, went to a wedding in Mexico, got the stomach flu, got super busy at work and then last two weeks were spent in Vancouver for the Christmas and New Years Holidays.

Well, I’m going to leave you hanging here for a few more days… I have two days left and I will not give up.

I will tell you this in the meantime — There is NO FAILURE.

Some goals were accomplished. Some were not.

The way I see it is that I have succeeded beyond what I thought I could in the last 98 days despite lifes various obstacles.

Looking over my goals I see that some were set too high, some were unrealistic, for others the time frame wasn’t long enough, or what may have seemed important to me at the time is no longer relevant in my life and some goals were only made for the sake of making goals and therefore were never important to me at all…

I also see that a lot of my goals ended up colliding into each other and therefore reaching one meant also reaching another and then there were some goals I feel as though I did NOTHING to achieve them yet somehow it happened anyways and all I did was write it down.

Goal setting is so important in our lives and I think its a continuous learning process on how to set realistic, measurable goals.

A lot of people asked me WHY I started this program at such a random time of year and the day before I got my wisdom teeth out.

The reason is this (and I want you to remember this for the rest of your life…)

There is NEVER a perfect time to start reaching your goals. Life is ALWAYS going to get in the way.

Although January 1st is significant to most people as it signifies new beginnings – you have the power within you to have a “new beginning” whenever you want.

Life will throw you hurdles and sometimes you may feel that “life” is out to get you. Things are always standing in the way of the things you want. What you must realize is that a lot of times it’s YOU that’s standing in your own way.

I could sit here and list ALL the excuses for why I didn’t reach some of my goals… I had the flu, I was traveling, I don’t have enough money, I don’t have enough time, etc. Do you see the pattern there? “I, I, I, I…”.

You have the power to change anything you want in your life and if you have a strategy of how you’re going to get there you can get there.

Stats show that 25% of people give up on their “New Years Resolutions” after the first WEEK!!

I beg you DO NOT set these silly “New Years Resolutions” – You can’t just say 10 things you’re going to change about your life in the coming year. You need to write them down and have a plan of attack – why WAIT till January 1st? Start the first chance you get.

2 more days… 2 more days … you will see what I accomplished before January 5th 2011.

Stay Tuned :-)
