Yoga Mala 2011 for Santropol Roulant

On Sunday May 29th, 2011 two of Montreal’s finest Yoga teachers, Dawn Mauricio and Bram Levinson, are teaming up to help raise money for the Montreal not-for-profit organization Santropol Roulant. Santropol Roulant  helps bring people together with their innovative wheels on meals service, intergenerational activities and volunteer programs.

With the help of this years Yoga Mala event they hope to raise just over $8000.

So what is “Yoga Mala”?

Yoga Malas, or Fundraisers, have been held over the last 4 years to help raise money for organizations such as Greenpeace, Équiterre, Amnesty International and Le Garde Manger Pour Tous.

The event itself is held in the park in which teachers from the nine different yoga traditions will lead and complete 108 sun salutations.

This year the Yoga Mala will be held at Jeanne Mance Park, corner Duluth and del’Esplanade, from 10am to 1pm on Sunday, May 29, 2011.

After the 108 sun salutations, participants will have the opportunity to rest, eat a healthy buffet-style meal and to participate in a raffle.

I LOVE organizations that promote exercise with a good cause and this one is a GREAT one!
