I have been completely and utterly MIA from my blog, twitter, facebook and almost all other forms of social media the last few weeks as between bootcamps, photoshoots, clients, moving, charity events, meetings, studying etc.etc.etc I just haven’t had the time.
There is one thing though despite it all that I have NOT neglected at that’s my exercise and Diet.
When I hear people give me the “I don’t have time” speech when it comes to exercise… I sympathize greatly.
I get up at 5:30am -Leave my house at 6:30 and usually don’t end up getting back home until 8:30pm and THEN once I am home I am usually doing work on my laptop until 10pm. So believe me – I understand you don’t have time – Neither do I and it’s what I do for a living. Yes – true – I work in a gym, However most of the time I end up having to do my workouts at home with the minimal equipment and space that I have & my cardio is done in the form of my transportation – I run, walk and bike EVERYWHERE.
Exercise and Healthy eating are something that just have to be up there with showering and brushing your teeth.
You wouldn’t skip and shower for 2 weeks straight because you “didn’t” have the time. You would probably just have quicker showers.
Exercise Solution: Have quicker workouts.
If you can’t devote a FULL hour that’s fine – 20 minutes will do.
Example:
10 Minute Jog
30 Burpees
30 Sqauts
30 Crunches
30 Walking Lunges
50 Jumping Jacks
30 Push-ups
30 Bent Over Rows
Remember “Life will throw you curve balls” and if you keep waiting for the perfect time to exercise you will never step foot in the gym as there is never a perfect time.
So don’t give me that excuse again. Obama works out for 90 minutes a day – What do you think HIS schedule is like??? He’s the president!
Now roll up your sleeves and go hit yourself a home run.
Social media can wait but your health can’t. 20 Minutes~ DO IT!
Hey Mica,
Thanks for the great tips. I will be traveling for the summer and I was worried about not being able to squeeze a daily workout in my busy (hehehe) sightseeing/partying schedule. This actually gives me a good idea on stuff I can do in a very short period of time. Do you have more workouts that you could recommend for someone who will be traveling around? Also, do you have any tips on healthy food and snacks while traveling?
Well said Micaela. Making time for a good workout can turn even the most hectic day into joy. I always tell people that your body is the only home you’ll ever have. So take care of it. Keep spreading the good word!
